Job Title: Financial Analyst 

Location: Kampala

Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial concepts to support our financial planning and analysis activities.

Responsibilities: 

• Evaluate current and past financial reports (balance sheet, profit and loss) and other financial data
• Value the company’s assets through appraisal of condition and useful life
• Provide financial forecasting based on current market conditions and competitive analysis
• Prepare a financial strategy, including budgeting, recommendations for improvement, new areas for investment, and processes to meet business goals
• Develop graphic representations of data and other financial information
• Prepare a final report and presentation on an economic model that details the company’s operations and projects future performance for use by the chief executive in adjusting the company vision

Requirements: 

• Strong analytical skills, pattern recognition skills, problem-solving skills, and decision-making skills
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial analysis techniques
• Ability to develop financial models, including credit models and company valuations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate financial analysis results to non-financial audiences
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or economics
• At least two years of experience in a financial analyst role or related field
• (Beneficial but not required) Certification from an accredited institution, such as the Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst certification from the Corporate Finance Institute
